42 May 2017 The uber positive and fun Life is Good brand makes a happy debut with The McGee Group. The McGee Group 800.966.2020 • McGeeGroup.com • #growthegood Panorama All About Optimism By Michele Silver Started more than 20 years ago by brothers Bert and John Jacobs with a simple yet powerful message, Life is Good has evolved into a plat- form for spreading happy, upbeat vibes and creating a boomerang of positivity with its signature char- acters Jake and his dog, Rocket. A wholesome brand that encompass- es apparel and accessories for the entire family, Life is Good found the ideal eyewear partner in e McGee Group, which rolled out women's, men's and kids' collec- tions for Vision Expo East. Designer Amy Moore, who was already well acquainted with the brand, was tapped to take on the project with the Life is Good team. "We focused on two of their Su- perpowers, 'Simplicity' and 'Fun.' Eyewear should be fun and help to express our personalities and individualities! For Simplicity, we made the collection with clean lines and finishes such as matte on met- als and acetates," Moore explained, adding that each frame is named aer an individual, from the "Hub of Optimism" section of the web- site, lifeisgood.com, who helps to spread the power of positivity. e finishing touch is the core message on the inside temple for the wearer to see every day when they put on their frames: "Spread Good Vibes." ere are nine styles for wom- en and seven styles for men that include acetate/metal combos and six teen models (three for girls and three for boys), each in two color- ways, made with memory metal or acetate. Moore's personal favorites are the women's Briana in Frost and men's Brad in matte black. "I love the shape and combination of metal and acetate on the front, which gives it a retro feel, but my favorite detail is the laminated tor- toise on the bottom of the eye rim giving it a unique personality," she said. "ere's a wonderful message of spreading optimism and overall a fun experience for the consumer." Last, but most definitely not least, the Life is Good Kids Foundation helps children in need in a vari- ety of ways. Since giving back is a major component of e McGee Group's philosophy, the company will be making annual donations to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Atlan- ta as well as Eagle's Ranch.
